Inside the Voice
At an early age, Charlottemarie's exposure to ethic music was inspired listening to canters in a synagogue, East Indian Sanskrit chanting, Mid Eastern instrumentals and West African chant and rhythms. This exposure initiated her Life's work in a diverse and indigenous world of music, teachings and sound, as well as setting a foundation in her career, personal healing and spiritual evolution.

Charlottemarie’s life's immersion in studies, and disciplines in yoga, traditional chant and meditation opened portals of deeper awareness in the profound effects of sound, vibration and music. This foundation strongly influences her vocal performances and compositional style.
A severe head injury from a car accident had monumental influence on her awareness of sound and healing. Using her voice, she healed pain and injuries to full recovery. She realized if her voice, vibration and sound had a powerful impact on her healing and spiritual process, it would have a greater positive effect on audiences. She immersed herself deeper in ancient practices of mediation and sound as well indigenous practices of sound, chant and mantra.

What is a Chanter
Chanting is an ancient way of life that unifies the heavens with earth though sound and vibration. Remembered and practiced by indigenous cultures but forgotten over time through the evolution of modern society.
There is a difference between chanters and singers. Chanters access refined energy states that is transmitted through their voice. Traditionally, chanting is used to tell stories, heal individuals & communities, communicating on all levels. What they chant are known as either chants or song lines. Chants are repetitive sung phrases. Song lines are like prayer songs that are sung in the native language or in a refined language of sound that resonates with the language of the people.
There are chants and song lines for healing, communicating genealogy and the origins of the community. There are song lines and chants that energetically unify and connect global communities. Some chants tune in to the vibrations of the elements in nature as well as the universe.
Some chanters have the sensitivity to chant visions of higher consciousness and the sounds of the cosmos, linking a resonating core within the listener. For the most part, chanters have a refined sonic and vibrational relationship with all life forms on all dimensions. Chanters vibrationally access a primordial core to the authentic heart where the divine and earthly realms meet within the body and spirit.
Chanting is an all encompassing and humbling calling. Chanters give openly bringing inspiration and light for the benefit of all existence in recognition of the vibrational source of creation.
Everyone is experiencing accelerated spiritual awakening in one capacity or another. This has prompted a resurgence of chant and song lines for healing, awakening, and transformation.
